Mixed Media Tag Tutorial

Hi Everyone!

Here is the photo tutorial showing the steps I took when creating my mixed media tags for Bona's swap at Keeponscrappin.  I don't have photos for every single step, but I think you will get the basic idea. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a wonderful week!

Hugs,
Nicole

First I sprayed my tags with homemade mists.

Getting ready to add some texture with molding paste.

Here I have added the molding paste on three corners of the tag on top of the vegie bag.

After adding the molding paste, I sprayed more color to cover the star white color.  Then I stamped a chicken wire pattern with a white pigment ink.

I then stamped the butterflies and corners with archival ink, & sealed the whole tag with matte finish mod podge.  I then edged the whole tag and book page butterflies and banner with white acrylic paint.

I used a fine tipped black permanent pen to outline the butterflies and banners too.
Look at all of that great texture and color!!!  :-)

Here they are all finished & topped with some white vintage lace,
waiting to be packaged up and sent off to Bona!
:-)

  1. WOW, amazing tutorial.

Howdy, I found you via Creating the Crafty Life website.
I am new there and new to altered art work. I have yet to do a scrapbook, though I tried to get it going 5 years ago. And I have just made my very first tag a few weeks ago.
I will now add your blog to my blog roll.
Take care, and see ya 'round!
