Recent Projects

Hello there!  I just thought I would share with you some projects I have been working on recently.  These projects are both made with the Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime paper collection.  On these long winter nights I have been keeping busy creating.  This paper is so pretty it cheers me up from the doldrums of winter.  The altered box was just a chocolate box and the birdhouse mini album I traced onto chipboard from a template.  You might want to re-visit your templates and see if you can make a mini from them!  I hope you enjoy the pics and thank you for stopping by!

Another Winter Storm Warning!

We have another winter storm warning in place until tomorrow, but thankfully, so far it has only rained!  I love the snow, it's beautiful, but it's also a lot of work!  I would much rather be inside my cozy house with my family creating something beautiful, than be outside bundled up in the snow trying to shovel my way out!  I hope you are all staying cozy and warm and taking time for yourselves and your creative projects!  Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

The kids are getting so excited for Christmas!  They have been busily cutting snowflakes and paper doll garlands and have already decorated two of our three miniature trees! However, I haven't encouraged them to put any snowflakes in the windows yet, as this always triggers a snow storm!  The lights are all up on the outside of the house, and picket fence. The yard has been festooned with giant candy canes.  It is safe to say we are almost ready for Santa.  I hope you are all keeping busy with Christmas crafts and keeping warm at night.  Let's not forget to do something special for those who have less than us at this season and throughout the year.  You can give your time or your money, just give what you can--there is always someone who has less than you do.   Peace to you all.

This is one of my son's beautiful snowflakes!

I love these paper doll garlands they made as well!

Here is the littlest tree that my youngest son loaded with my handmade ornaments and a gift he wrapped for Santa!!!

Baby It's Cold Outside!!!

In the past 8 days it has snowed 5!  So why doesn't it snow like this at Christmas?!  Maybe this year it will, or we will still have the same snow out there we have right now--it's 24 degrees outside, so it's not going to be melting anytime soon!  So when the weather outside is frightful, I stay in and create!  Here are some pic's of what I have been working on recently. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Here is a close-up of the bottom right-hand corner.

It's not always paper and lace--vintage buttons are wonderful also!  :-)

BRRRRRRR!!!!  All the more reason to stay inside and create!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  I have so many things to be thankful for on this day!  One of the things I am thankful for is that the electricity has been restored to our home and I get hot showers, dishes washed and laundry too!   I guess it's the little things.  We are going to a large family gathering for dinner and will get to see our newest family member, my little grand-nephew!  He is so cute, he looks just like his daddy.  So on this day I am most thankful for my family and I wish you all a blessed holiday!  Nicole

No Electricity Since Saturday!!!

So we have been without power since Saturday night.......no estimated time from the electric company when power will be restored.........  I will be thankful if I just get a hot shower for Thanksgiving!  We are making do with the generator and that is how I am able to blog right now.  So no new pictures for now, except this one of the tulle flowers I made on Saturday, when the power first went out.  This pic shows the centers better than the other pic.  Have a great night!  Hope you are all cozy and warm!  It's going to be 8 degrees here tonight!!!  Brrrrrrr!!!!!!!

Power Outage

So the power went out at 6:45 this morning, not an unusual event, but always inconvenient!  Got the extension cords hooked up to the generator and piped in through the window.  But we only had less than three hours of gasoline in the generator and hubby had to leave for work.  So I got the fire going hot in the wood stove and cooked some scrambled eggs and re-heated last night's beans, (while the kids played outside in the snow).  The power ended up coming back on at about 1:00 p.m. and then the snow plow went by about a half hour later.  I saw the mail truck drive by a few minutes ago but he wasn't stopping at any of the mailboxes on our street.  The mail is never dependable here, but that's a whole nother story!  While the power was out I made some tulle flowers.  I love how simple, yet elegant they look.  When the power came back on I made this sign for my creative space.  Thanks for stopping by.  It's snowing again!  Nicole

Tulle flowers I made when power was out.  (It's hard to see, but the centers are pearls on some and vintage buttons on others.)

Winter Storm Warning !!!

So we have a winter storm warning in place from now until Sunday!!!  Just looked outside and it's snowing!!!  I hope you are all warm and cozy tonight.  We are all warm here with a nice fire, a fresh loaf of bread from the bread maker, and a pot of beans--another blessed country night in!

Be well,  Nicole
